Where are you located? Can we come see the studio?
I am located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada at the base of the Rocky Mountains. Our studio is only a workplace and I do not have a store front so we are unable to accommodate visitors. However, we would love to see you at a local fiber show.
Processing & Shipping
Most of our yarn is on the shelf and ready to go. However, we do occasionally have to dye to fulfill orders. Processing time for your order is between 5 and 10 business days. If it will be any time beyond that window, I will email you.
I ship all Canadian orders through Canada Post and that includes a tracking number. Orders usually arrive in 1-7 business days, depending on your location. Flat rate Canada shipping is $18.50. (Alberta is $15)
US flat rate shipping is $15 US orders are shipped through Canada Post and also include tracking. Orders usually arrive in 5-15 business days, depending on your location.
International orders are shipped via Canada Post or USPS.
Customs
All charges related to customs and duties are the responsibility of the buyer.
Matching Skeins?
I dye in batches of 5 - 10 skeins but all the yarn is hand dyed and I cannot guarantee the skeins will match perfectly. In a large project, I recommend that you alternate skeins every couple of rows to create a more seamless project.
Yarn Colours
While I have taken great care to capture the true colours of our yarns and fibers with the photos provided, every monitor is slightly different. If you have any questions about the product or would like more photos, please send me a note and I will be happy to assist you.
Using STFA Yarn
Our yarn will arrive in a skein. This is a large loop of yarn. In order to use the yarn, you need to wind it into a ball or cake first. If you do not have a ball winder and swift, you have a few options. A willing assistant can hold the skein on their hands while you wind a ball or you can drape the skein over the back of a chair.
The skein will be tied in 2-3 places so please take care when cutting the ties to avoid cutting the working yarn.
I recommend all projects to be washed by hand in cool water with a minimal amount of wool wash. Hot water and excess soap can break down the dye bonds and cause the colours to run.
Returns:
We hope you love our yarns as much as we do. Returns can be made within 15 days of you receiving the yarn. Please return it to me in the same condition you received it for an exchange or a refund. Skeins that have been wound into cakes or balls are not returnable.
Custom orders, all sale yarns or de-stash yarns are non-returnable.
Occasionally you may find a knot in a skein of yarn. Knots happen in skeins and in order to keep our prices reasonable I cannot accept returns of skeins with a single knot. If you find more than one, please contact me.
